I remember when the first box of books arrived.

It was back in 1994 and the first book I ever published had arrived! (At the time it was called The ABCs of Life: From Women Who Learned The Hard Way. – Later changed to its current title: A Woman’s ABCs of Life: Lessons in life, love, family and career from those who learned the hard way.)

It was probably the sweetest writing experience I’ve ever had, because it appeared to fulfill all my dreams to be a writer!

After all, a book I wrote was published!

My mother even likes this book!!

Maybe that is what mom’s are supposed to do, but it is certainly not something that I ever expected!

In fact I didn’t even expect her to read it.

She has read my other books, but it was always with my dad’s insistence that perhaps it would be a good idea. Now that he is no longer with us, and she refuses to get on the internet, she isn’t reading what I write anymore.

In fact, her ongoing observation has always been “How could I have a daughter that wrote a book called Living In Grace? (I am pretty sure this was not meant as a good thing.)
